Handmade in Madagascar, the Vetiver basket has a scent which is activated by dipping it into water. Vetiver is a large tufted bunchgrass which is grown for the essential oil industry. The roots are dried to make baskets and is used in the prevention of soil erosion. The baskets resemble bird's nests.
