Cameroon Beaded Shield 2m length

A Unique Find - 2m decorative beaded shield originating from the Tikar tribe in  Cameroon West Africa   Once used as defensive weapons during wartime it was later purposed as a symbol of wealth & status.  The shield signifies pride in their culture & legacy.  The Shields are hand carved from a single piece of Baobab wood and each shield shows meticulous craftmanship.  The wood is adorned with hundreds of glass beads with a cluster of cowrie shells in the middle.

 These items are ideal for a wall that requires  a statement piece.
