Bambara Horse Head

The Bambara Tribe are ethnic to Mali, Guinea, Burkino Faso & Senegal.  These horse figures are truly beautiful & a definite talking point in any home.  The neck & face are adorned with brass plates & beautifully carved.  The Bambara horse is used in initiation ceremonies, where the young men have these horse heads mounted on wooden poles which they "ride" around on  To the Bambara people these items aheld in high regard & are signs of wealth & stature
