Babanki Elephant Mask

The Babanki  {or Kejom} tribe are based in the North west Province of Cameroon.  Known as farmers & craftsmnan they are renowned for their traditional but intricate wood carvings, that represent royal authority.   The Babanki elephant mask symbolizes power and prestige & is generally worn on the head.  This babanki mask holds a special place during festive ceremonies and funerals.
